  Are my children in danger of being indoctrinated if I let them spend the night with their JW family?

  so... i'm writing because i have mixed feelings.

  keeping my kids safe is my goal... until they are old enough to understand and reason on their own.

  my mother gave me the tapes (that i gave her back in december) of combating mind control by steven hassan, saying that she didn't have a tape player... reminded me of three years ago when i gave her crisis of conscience by ray franz and she said it's to big book to read and she's not a reader.

  To me the dangers of exposing ones children to practicing Jehovah's Witnesses are on par with exposing them to a dumbass, and hell yes they will read them the literature, many is the time the subject of articles in their publications were encouraging just that, covertly indoctrinating and manipulating children while been told NOT to by non practising or "worldly" parents friends and guardians.

  im not saying don't let your kids see grandma, but don't leave them unsupervised and I certainly would nt make a habit of regular unsupervised over night stays.

  i heard that it happened a couple of days ago.

  he's in his 60's, was a prominent bethelite from a long line of bible student/jw family.. another one bites the dust..

  Good for him! I only hope he doesn't go thru that phase of still believing that I did on vowing never to set foot in a Kingdom Hall ever again. But with the Internet and resources available today there's a good chance he won't! Hurrah for you anonymous elder man, and happy days to you!

  alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.

  if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.

  for the most of this decade i have been living & working in brisbane, queensland, australia.. .

  First post after a year or two of lurking on this site-Sorry for the length!

  not sure of the point of telling my story, but just got off the phone with my grandma and i am so angry, stressed and i don't know what else...i guess i just wanted to hear from someone other than my husband that i'm not crazy for my reaction to family interaction.. my condensed story gramatical errors and all :).

  father was a born in jw, mother was a convert.

  i was born the last of 3 siblings and shortly after my birth in 1981 my parents divorced.

  They weren't actually that bad, polite stated their case clearly and didn't threaten or cajole the sisters, ok they were a bit acid about the counting their time personally I won't begrudge a still in witness for having a little bit of me time relaxing with those new stand things lord knows it beats the hell out of cold calling on people's door steps on their weekends :(

  Yes I am I work all thru the night :) and hmm do I look like buck rogers.....well yes I guess in a way I may, hah don't mind gay bars like my mate who works in security, it's the easiest most laid back atmosphere you can find unlike the drunken aggro environs of most hetro pubs and clubs these days.
